Morgan Concept EXTERIOR

This Morgan concept was a 3rd year project. I completed the project as part of an in house placement at Huddersfield university. A lightweight sports car aimed at a younger market. The design sticks to many of the traditional morgan themes, and takes design inspiration from previous models and portrays the same design in a different way. For example the running boards fom the past morgans are looking old and need to be retired... this concept has the same stance from the side by incorporating a slight design crease down the side of the car which runs right around the front of the bonet and back around the other side, giving the car an aggressive front end. In all the design was an attempt to keep traditional design from past Morgans, and incorporate those prompts into a new model that could be sold to a younger market. The resulting concept is a lightweight, elegant sportscar which has a muscular feel.

Morgan Concept INTERIOR

The interior of my morgan concept. The aim was to stick to Morgans current design philosophy of light and sporty. The use of ash wood for the entire interior was a bold statement about Morgan cars. Not only does it exagerate the companys historical use of wood, but it also points to the future, showing that Morgan cars are environmentally friendly. The whole interior could be recyled efficiently, and trees could be replaced as used. The ambiant glow lights up the middle of the interior, producing a calm environment to be in. The curvacious shapes mimic eachother to flow in harmony.

But i have some of the earlier development work and images of the model nearing its final state... So until i can track down some pictures of the final thing here are some of the development pictures...
